What Is an ECU Unlock?

Modern Bosch MG1, MD1, and MDG1 ECU generations are factory encrypted and write-protected.

Unlocking enables proper read/write access for:

• Stage 1 tuning

Unlocking does not increase horsepower by itself — it simply enables tuning access.
